If God is always in control why would we need to pray that the will of God be done. If God can do what ever he wanted when ever he wanted then we should see the conditions of heaven overwhelming this earth now. Unfortunately that is not the case.
It is recorded that John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist Church said, "IT SEEMS GOD IS LIMITED BY OUR PRAYER LIFE—THAT HE CAN DO NOTHING FOR HUMANITY UNLESS SOMEONE ASKS HIM.” We need to recognize that we are the agents in the field that ultimately determine how much God can do here. Free will means God cannot get involved in our lives or community unless we ask, we must invite him into situations and into our lives.
When we reference the Bible we find a very interesting fact about "God". 2 Corinthians 4:4 calls Satan the God of this world, besides that we find many times he is referred the prince, in the original language a ruler or magistrate. In other words if we want to look at who is really running things, making a mess and causing trouble look at the one called satan of Lucifer, prince of darkness. In fact Jesus calls him a thief in John 10:10, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." He is also referred as the destroyer, a deceiver, a liar and a murderer. He tres to be incognito and work in the shadows then let us blame God for his mischief.
If we understand this we also should understand that if we don't like the way he is running things we can cause a change in power by asking God to step in.
IN 2nd Chronicles 7:14 5 is says, If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray, search for me, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear their prayer from heaven, forgive their sins, and heal their country." Whether if be personal issues or national troubles, it seems the same principle applies, God can only step in when we ask. Next time you see someone pointing the finger at God saying "why", realize there are four fingers pointing back at us. The bottom line in all this if you you want to see more godliness in our world, more peace, less trouble, pray for it.
